Tx Bar: Geelong cosmetic clinics achieves accreditation to National Standards

November 7, 2025

Why TX Bar is setting a new standard in cosmetic medicine?

At TX Bar, we’ve always believed that safety and clinical excellence should never be optional. That’s why we’re proud to announce that TX Bar has become the first accredited cosmetic clinic, meeting the national standards set by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care –  the same body that oversees hospitals, dentists and medical centres across Australia. You can find out more about the commission here

What is accreditation?

Accreditation is an independent process that assesses whether a health service meets the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Health care (NSQHS) Standards. These standards are designed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care to protect patients from harm and to improve the quality of care across the health system. Tx Bar was accredited by HDAA. You can read more about the NSQPCHS standards here.

In simple terms, accreditation is a formal seal of approval, confirming that a clinic has the systems, governance, and safety protocols in place to deliver medical care to the highest national standard.

Is accreditation mandatory for cosmetic clinics?

Unlike hospitals, dentists or GP clinics, accreditation is not currently mandatory in the cosmetic aesthetics industry. That means many cosmetic clinics operate without any external oversight of their safety, medication management, or infection control practices.

At TX Bar, we didn’t want to wait for regulation to catch up. We made the decision to undergo full accreditation voluntarily — because our patients deserve to know that every procedure at our Geelong cosmetic clinic is being performed in a clinically governed medical environment.

What makes an accredited cosmetic clinic different?

Choosing an accredited cosmetic clinic means choosing a team that has been independently assessed on every aspect of patient care, including:

  • Infection prevention and sterilisation procedures

  • Medication storage and administration

  • Clinical documentation and informed consent

  • Emergency response readiness

  • Ongoing staff education and competency reviews

For you, that translates into peace of mind. You can be confident that every treatment at TX Bar is supported by the National standards — not just aesthetic expertise.

Why Tx Bar chose to become an accredited cosmetic clinic?

When we began the accreditation process, we saw it as an opportunity to reflect, refine and raise the bar even further. We reviewed every policy, every treatment room, and every clinical protocol to ensure they met the Commission’s exacting standards.

The process was challenging – but the result is a safer, stronger, and even more patient-focused clinic.

Australia’s cosmetic medicine sector is undergoing major transformation, with new TGA and AHPRA reforms focusing on safety, ethics, and advertising standards. TX Bar’s decision to achieve accreditation places us ahead of the curve, aligning us with the future direction of the industry -and giving our patients confidence that we’re already operating to those elevated standards.

Setting the benchmark for cosmetic clinics

As one the only Geelong cosmetic clinic achieving accreditation, TX Bar is proud to lead the way in professional, responsible aesthetic medicine. Accreditation is more than a title -it’s our ongoing commitment to clinical integrity, transparency, and excellence in patient care.

Because you deserve to know your cosmetic treatments are performed in a safe, accredited medical setting.
