Migraine Management Options – Geelong

Migraines are a neurological condition that can present with moderate to severe head pain and may be accompanied by nausea, sensitivity to light or sound, and visual disturbances. These symptoms can significantly impact daily functioning and vary in intensity and duration.

At Tx Bar in Geelong, our qualified healthcare professionals provide supportive therapies that may assist individuals experiencing migraine-related symptoms. These services are available following a comprehensive clinical assessment.

Understanding Migraine Support Options

Managing migraines often involves a multidisciplinary approach, which may include medical care, lifestyle modifications, and, in some cases, procedural interventions.

At Tx Bar, our team of Registered Nurses works under the supervision of our Nurse Practitioner to deliver supportive options in accordance with current clinical and regulatory standards.

Masseter Muscle Treatment for Jaw Tension & Headache-Related Discomfort

Tension in the masseter muscle — often due to jaw clenching or teeth grinding — may contribute to facial pain or headache symptoms in some individuals.

Management options may include:

  • Relaxation techniques or physiotherapy

  • Referral to dental practitioners for splint therapy

  • Lifestyle and stress management strategies

  • Consultation for bruxism with registered nurse

If indicated during your consultation, a treatment with our registered nurse or nurse practitioner for bruxism may be indicated. This may be considered as part of a therapeutic plan to address muscle tension-related symptoms. Treatments are administered by trained Registered Nurses and are only provided after a face-to-face consultation and clinical assessment.

Intravenous (IV) Vitamin Therapy for General Wellbeing

At Tx Bar, IV infusions are offered as a supportive wellness service. These infusions may assist with general hydration and nutrient replenishment. Some ingredients, such as B-group vitamins and magnesium, play roles in energy metabolism and muscle function.

Research has explored the potential role of nutrients such as:

  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Involved in mitochondrial function and has been investigated in relation to migraine support (Gibson et al., 2020).

  • Magnesium: Contributes to normal muscle and nerve function.

Our B-Energised infusion includes a combination of Vitamin C, B-group vitamins, and magnesium. Suitability for IV therapy is assessed during a pre-treatment consultation.

Please note: IV vitamin therapy is not intended to treat or prevent medical conditions and should not replace migraine-specific medical treatment.

Booking a Consultation

We encourage individuals experiencing recurring headaches, facial tension, or migraine symptoms to book a consultation with our healthcare team. A thorough clinical assessment will be conducted to determine whether any of the supportive therapies available at Tx Bar may be suitable.

All prescription-only medicines, including those used for therapeutic indications, are only available following a face-to-face consultation and clinical assessment by our Nurse Practitioner.
